Jesus invites you to step out of the darkness of your life and into the Light: Jesus said, “ I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life".
Have you ever been in a dark room and you could not find the light? You are stumbling and feeling along the walls to try to find the light switch. When you finally find the light switch and flip it on and boom, you can finally see your way around the room as light overcomes the darkness. If you have not met Jesus and received His gift of eternal life, then you are walking in darkness -- spiritual darkness.
You may be caught up in alcoholism, drug addiction, prostitution, theft, hatred and even murder. You know that your life is dark – very dark, and you realize that you need to leave that darkness and step into the light. Today, Jesus stands ready to bring you into the light – His life-changing light. If you sense His hand reaching into your dark world and offering to bring you into His light, then STOP and see the love in His eyes for you. He died and shed His blood on the cross just for this moment in your life. You cannot overcome the sins that have taken hold of your life without Jesus. Place your faith in Him now as your savior and His Holy Spirit will bring eternal light into your heart. No matter how far you have slipped in life, God’s grace will forgive you, save your soul from hell and lead you into a life of light, love and purpose!
For some people ‘Life is going great”, or so you think it is. Your plans in life are lining up just the way you hoped they would. You see yourself as handsome, beautiful or perhaps just minor issues with your appearance. You have friends, family and a great job. Maybe you are popular in school or sports. You seem to be going in the right direction in your life, but --- What if it all ended today?? A car accident that left you physically scarred for the remainder life or even crippled and unable to live the life you now enjoy. It could be the death of your closest family members or supportive friends. Of course, your own death would bring about the very end to your life and dreams on earth. What would happen to you then? Where would you be after you leave this life? What is next??? In the Bible Jesus spoke a parable (an illustration) about someone who was doing extremely well in their life, but failed to prepare for his eternal future. This is what Jesus said,
And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
God is not against hard work, honest success or a successful life. The rich man was a fool. He was rich in this life in many ways, but he failed to take care of his eternal soul. His life ended --- next came eternity without God in the lake of hell fire. A tragic and eternally sad story.
Don’t be like the rich fool. Come to Jesus today and place your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior. Your life may seem full of light and hope, but if you have not placed your hope of heaven in Jesus Christ, then you are walking in darkness. Today, Jesus is shinning a light into your dark world. Turn to Jesus and believe!
