The free offer of Living Water: In the last book of the Bible God says, ‘ Come. And let him that is thirsty, come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely‘. In another book of the Bible God invites anyone who is thirsty to come, ‘every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy’. It is free.
What are the living waters that Jesus offers? It is forgiveness of all sins (past, present and future), it is union with God because the Holy Spirit of God comes to live in your heart. Also, it is the assurance that you now have eternal life and it will not be taken away from you ever. While it sounds too good to be true, it is an amazing truth that the only almighty God would be able to offer you.
Do you sense a longing for something deeper, richer and permanent? Do you feel separated from this special deep need in your soul and your mind? If you have not been united with God through faith in Jesus Christ, then sadly you are separated from God and His love. What separates you from God is your sins. God is Holy and He is a Just Judge. Because of your sins, God must pronounce the judgement of eternal separation from himself.
Thankfully the Bible also says that God is love. The bible says that God loves you so much that He has provided a way for you to be forgiven of your sin and restored to fellowship with Him. One of the most wonderful verses in the Bible says, ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God’.
To believe on Jesus means to trust Him as your Savior. To trust that he died on the cross to pay your penalty for sin. It means believing that Jesus is the only way to God’s forgiveness. Your deep desire for union with God is a spiritual thirst. Come to Jesus and receive living water (forgiveness and eternal life) and you will never thirst spiritually again. One drink of living water from Jesus will change your whole life and eternal destiny!
